It’s hard to pick a favorite spot I’ve worked on, but Brain Surgeon is very close to the top. This was the first spot I shot at Barton F. Graf, and the first time I worked with iconoclast director Harold Einstein. Harold is a wizard at physical performance, and the relationship with him and BFG taught me so much. The first big lesson came in callbacks, when this hilarious actor stabbed a fake head HARD with a scalpel while delivering his perfectly dry lines. We just knew we had something great. And that vibe would build over a dozens of spots we shot together for Kayak, Little Caesars and others.
